Hon. Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells opens new buildings at Macarthur Adventist College
The Hon. Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, visited Macarthur Adventist College last Sunday to officially open a new two story art, music and IT specialty building at the school’s Family Fun Day on Sunday 20 August. In addition to the new building, the school’s Hall and TAS (Technology and Applied Studies) building were refurbished.
Minister for International Development and the Pacific said she was excited to see such an investment being made into school facilities in the local Macarthur area.
“A good education is the key to success. Opening the new building at Macarthur Adventist College is part of the Coalition Government’s commitment to the region’s growth, education and potential. It is something worth celebrating,” said Senator Fierravanti-Wells.
Campbelltown Council approved the new building works last year to cater for student population growth that is expected to almost triple over the ten years to 2020. Anna Calandra, principal at Macarthur Adventist College, said the school was located in a growth corridor.
“As the school has grown we have been able to expand the subject choice and opportunities for students as they go onto pursue further study or enter the workforce. Our focus has always been on personal attention and Christian values. Our new facilities will allow us to continue providing that quality education as we prepare our students for a life beyond our school ”.
The ceremony was held as part of the Macarthur Adventist College Family Fun Day, which featured carnival rides, a petting zoo, face painting and jumping castles.
