The Learning Program

Our teachers pride themselves on knowing each child individually and therefore know the individual needs of each child.   Building on a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy we enable all of our students to discover and develop their special gifts and talents.

At Macarthur Adventist College students enjoy a variety of exciting educational experiences. An active lifestyle is an important part of our school program.  Our college belongs to the Christian Schools Sports Assoication which along with the normal school programme encourages individual achievement and team participation, while inter-school events offer the challenge of competition.

Pre-kindy providing your child with a head start
Our College gives families access to a pre-kindy program that has been developed to help your child experience an easy transition to school life at Macarthur. Because the program is on the school grounds your child will become familiar with the daily surroundings, people, philosophy and routines of school.

Our pre-kindergarten students are taught through fun games, songs and craft activities. Choosing this pathway into Macarthur ensures a smooth and worry free start to your child's education.

Catering to individual needs
At our school we understand that each student is unique and strive to tailor the academic program to meet individual needs. Our approach to learning allows teachers to develop an understanding of each child’s requirements, strengths and weaknesses. Our teachers are trained to recognise gifted and talented children as well as to detect children with learning difficulties.

Our flexible attitude to the learning needs of our students allows us to provide opportunities for more able and gifted students to move beyond their peers in educational outcomes, and explore higher levels of achievement through accessing curriculum in grades beyond their chronological year.

More than just an education
Our aim is to give your child a full education program that will prepare them for life as well as work. With a lively extra-curricular enrichment program, including participation in outdoor camps, leadership opportunities, a diverse sports program, community service activities, drama and many more activities, your child will be able to develop and discover their own unique gifts and talents.

Christianity in the Sydney Adventist independent school system
As a Christian school founded by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, our belief in God, the Father; Jesus, His Son; and the power of the Holy Spirit, forms the core of our teaching and approach to the school community as a whole.

While the school functions within the framework of an Adventist worldview, they are open to all students regardless of religious and cultural beliefs, without compulsory church attendance.

Prayer and development of a relationship with Jesus are an integral part of the school day. There are many opportunities for your child to develop this relationship further, either with the school chaplains or by arrangement with members of your own faith.
